MLK Young Leaders Summit

The purpose of the 7th Annual MLK Young Leaders Summit is to provide a day of engaging conversation along with development activities designed specifically for emerging young minority leaders. The goal of the Young Leaders Summit is to promote educational and cultural fundamentals essential to young adults by addressing current issues that affect our communities, finding solutions to those issues in smaller group sessions facilitated by professionals. Additionally, we have integrated performances by high school/college students as well as musical performances by native celebrities and alike. The MLKCC Youth Committee presents the Youth Trailblazer Award to six outstanding students in which three will be in high-school and three collegiate. The Trailblazer award is a prestigious award for those who demonstrate either a 360 turn-around, or are outstanding leaders in the classroom as well as in their respective communities. Our platform this year will be to empower, develop, and inspire emerging leaders of color to be proactive in their community and to be the visionaries of tomorrow: by challenging the critical thinking process, identifying current community problems that involve race, gender, and class, as well real solutions that will bend generational curses.
