EVERGLADES RESTORATION MOVEMENT (ERM)

To help preserve and restore the remaining Everglades ecosystems by mobilizing volunteers to eradicate destructive, invasive exotic species of plant and animal that threaten the biodiversity of these already stressed habitats. ERM is responsible for facilitating the restoration of Water Conservation Area 2B (WCA2B), the area now known as the Sawgrass Trailhead. From 1991 to 2005 millions of invasive Melaleuca trees were cut and pulled restoring the area to its original natural beauty now appreciated by people taking award winning sunset photos, bike riding and fishing within. Volunteers are needed for maintenance of the Sawgrass Trail (WCA2B), on a weekly basis. Activities include trash pickups, invasive plant eradication and the establishment of Redemption Trail. Also needed is computer work, graphic design, photography, videographer and web-design to build the organization.
