Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for your commitment to improving lives in our community through your volunteer efforts. Your dedication truly makes a difference. Please take a moment to review the following information to ensure a smooth and rewarding experience with LifeNet4Families.

Step 1: Getting Started

1. Complete the ONE-TIME online volunteer application:
   Visit www.lifenet4families.org/volunteer to submit your application and waiver.

2. Sign up for a shift:
   Reserve your desired shift through HandsOn South Florida.

3. Check your confirmation:
   Verify your HandsOn South Florida account or email to confirm your shift. Shifts may be waitlisted or declined due to schedule changes, no-shows, or group bookings.

Step 2: Volunteer Shifts

We offer three main shifts daily, except on National Holidays (Morning shifts only):

• 7 AM - 12 PM (Morning)
• 12 PM - 3 PM (Afternoon)
• 3 PM - 6 PM (Evening)

Step 3: Volunteer Roles

Volunteers may be assigned to the role with the greatest need:

• Kitchen & Community Café Attendant (17+): Prepare and serve meals, clean and maintain the kitchen.
• Food Pantry Attendant: Prepare and distribute food boxes, organize pantry supplies.
• Clothing Attendant: Sort and display clothing, distribute mail.
• Office Attendant (17+): Perform administrative tasks, answer phones.

Step 4: Eligibility

• Volunteers aged 12-16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
• Groups of 6+ must contact lvaughn@ln4f.org. to arrange a customized experience. Carpooling is encouraged.

Court-Ordered Community Service - Must receive an confirmation email approval before volunteering.

• Only minor offenses are accepted, and pre-approval is required. Submit court documents in advance to lvaughn@ln4f.org.
• All court order forms must be emailed or given to the Comunity Relations Manager.
• Only Community Relations Manager can sign off on forms or letters. 

Student Volunteer Hours

• Track your hours and bring any school-required forms for signature.

Don't Forget : Before Volunteering

1. Submit your online application/waiver at www.lifenet4families.org/volunteer.
2. Confirm your shift through HandsOn South Florida.
3. Cancel shifts if necessary by contacting lvaughn@ln4f.org or updating your HandsOn account.

 Arrival Instructions

• Parking: Due to limited parking, carpooling is recommended. Park on the street or in front of the warehouse.
• Check-In: Upon arrival, inform the receptionist or security that you are there to volunteer. Use the QR Code in the Community Café to sign in and out. This is mandatory to track hours for schools or court service.

• Footwear:

  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory to protect your feet in active areas.
  • Shoes with rubber soles are strongly recommended for slip resistance.

• Clothing:

  • Wear comfortable, modest attire that allows you to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Shorts, skirts, or dresses must be knee-length or longer.
  • Avoid overly loose or baggy clothing that may pose a safety risk.

• Prohibited Items:

  • Flip-flops, sandals, or open-toe shoes.
  • Clothing with offensive language, graphics, or political statements.
  • Tank tops, spaghetti straps, or excessively revealing clothing.

• Hair and Accessories:

  • Long hair must be tied back to ensure safety in food service areas.
  • Avoid wearing excessive jewelry, dangling accessories, or items that may interfere with tasks.
