Dear Volunteer,

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, so there’s a role that suits your skills and interests. Below are a lot of details regarding our opportunity. Please read it carefully, but call the office during business hours if you still have questions.

Below are our two (2) main shifts and roles. You may be placed in the role that has the greatest need.

SHIFTS

7 AM - 12 PM (Morning)*
12 PM - 3 PM  (Afternoon)

*National Holidays -- only Morning shifts are available.

PLEASE NOTE: Your desired shift may be Waitlisted or Declined for reasons, such as: unexpected schedule changes, too many no-shows, or the opportunity is full with a large groups on site. It is recommended that you check your Hands on Broward appointment and/or your email before coming to LifeNet4Families to ensure that your hours are still CONFIRMED. If you have not received an email, then you are welcome to show up at your scheduled time. 

ROLES

Kitchen & Community Cafe Attendants

  • Prepare and serve meals
  • Maintain a clean, safe kitchen

Food Pantry Attendants

  • Prepare food boxes for distribution
  • Stock and organize pantry

Clothing Attendants

  • Sort and place clothing on display
  • Distribute mail to community members

Office Attendants

  • Assist with a variety of office tasks
  • Prepare mailers and answer telephone

MORE INFORMATION:

Eligibility

  • 16 years or older with parents' permission. 
  • 6 years or older with accompanying parents.
  • Large Groups must contact the marketing@LN4F.org for a customized volunteer experience. Groups of 6 or more are encouraged to carpool.
  • Volunteers under 17 will not have client interaction unless with accompanying parent.

 

Court Ordered Community Service

  • We accept volunteers with minor offenses (must be pre-approved).
  • Contact marketing@ln4f.org to determine if your offense is approved.
  • Court documents must be presented on first day; if offense is not minor, volunteer hours may not be approved.

Student Volunteer Hours

  • Student hours are avaiable for high school or college students
  • School forms must be provided if signature is needed; students must keep track of their forms and hours worked. 

Before Volunteering

  • Submit online Volunteer Application/Waiver Form at www.lifenet4families.org/volunteer
  • Complete and Scan/Email Waiver to marketing@lnf4.org
  • Confirm your shift from HOB with the Coordinator by emailing marketing@ln4f.org
  • If you need to cancel, contact marketing@ln4f.org or decline your appointment on Hands on Broward

When you Arrive

  • DUE TO LIMITED PARKING, volunteers will be dirercted to park on the street or in front of the warehouse; if you are coming with a group, it is recommended to carpool to ensure adaquate parking
  • At the call box, tell receptionist or security that you are reporting to volunteer
  • Report to Community Cafe and Scan in using QR Code in the Community Cafe - This is our contactless sign in form. If you are working on Community Service Hours for School or Court Order, then you MUST scan in and out. Do not skip this step or we cannot confirm your hours on Hand on Broward, nor your requiring institution
  • Be friendly and respectful to all associates and clients
  • Follow all task procedures and safety protocols
  • Before leaving, Scan out using the scan out QR code.

Dress Code

  • Wear comfy safe attire, closed-toe shoes are required, rubber bottoms preferred.
  • We provide hairnets, gloves, aprons, and masks (as needed)
