2025-2026 DIY Superhero Cape & Book Bundle
HandsOn South Florida’s Literacy League is dedicated to helping students develop a love and excitement for reading, setting them up for educational success throughout their schooling.
For this project, volunteers are invited to create Superhero Cape Bundles that will be donated to students during our upcoming “Super Reader Day”, a guest reading opportunity at local schools and Afterschool Literacy Programs at community centers to assist students in building their own home libraries and continue reading at home.
Our hope is to inspire children to use their imaginations and encourage their love for literacy through creative play! Local community centers as well as public schools which are in underserved areas in our local area can benefit from these Superhero bundles and help promote reading.
Participants will receive (5) volunteer service hours per bundle.

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL STEPS (missing steps will delay hours verification process):

- Fill Out the DIY Documentation Form (THIS STEP IS REQUIRED)
- Mail or drop off your completed project to HandsOn South Florida
** For all DIY Projects, you do not need to wait for confirmation.
Once you have expressed interest and accessed the instructions (above under "2"), you are free to begin the project and submit upon completion.
Once your Superhero capes/books bundles are finished, you may notify me via email at: jenny@handsonsouthflorida.org or via my direct line at (954) 523-1290. And we can coordinate the best date and time to have your bundles dropped off at our HandsOn South Florida Office.
