What is HandsOn At Home?

To provide meaningful ways to support our community remotely, HandsOn Broward introduces HandsOn at Home, a webpage featuring opportunities to raise awareness, contribute, and spread kindness! These projects cater to individuals and families, enabling safe and comfortable participation from home. Activities are continually developed to assist vulnerable residents and nonprofits in our community. New opportunities, along with instructions for completion and claiming service hours if necessary, will be listed below.

Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Volunteering

HandsOn Broward’s DIY Volunteering offers a meaningful method of engaging volunteers in a non-traditional manner. For these projects, you'll supply the materials, and we'll provide you with instructions for completion, along with information about the benefiting agency. All projects are designed to be low-to-no-cost, and supplies can be purchased in person or digitally through a variety of online retailers.

DIY Superhero Cape & Book Bundle

HandsOn Broward's Literacy League aims to instill a love for reading in students to enhance educational success. In 2023, Broward County Public Schools launched the "Broward Super Reader" initiative to aid students in exceeding grade-level reading expectations. Volunteers will create superhero capes for students during guest reading sessions, motivating them to cultivate home libraries and read independently. Our goal is to ignite children's imaginations and foster literacy through creative play.
