DIY Volunteer Project: Reading Totes

Margate Elementary School strives to create a nurturing environment so their students will become independent, successful, lifelong learners by providing a high-quality, differentiated, and innovative curriculum based on the Florida State Standards.   

For this month’s DIY Project, volunteers are being asked to create Reading Totes for the students of Margate Elementary School. The Reading Totes aim to reduce the effects of low literacy rates throughout our community by ensuring every child has access to books! Our goal is to collect 200 reading totes.

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL STEPS (missing steps will delay hours verification process):

4. Fill Out the DIY Documentation Form (THIS STEP IS REQUIRED)
5. Mail or drop off your completed project to HandsOn Broward

** For all DIY Projects, you do not need to wait for confirmation.
Once you have expressed interest and accessed the instructions (above under "2"), you are free to begin the project and submit upon completion.

DIY collection will be held on the following dates:

February 5, 2024, 9:00AM - 1:00PM
February 6, 2024, 12:00PM - 4:00PM
February 12, 2024 1:00PM - 5:00PM
February 26, 2024 12:00PM - 4:00PM
February 29, 2024 9:00AM - 12:00PM

The last day to drop off Reading Totes will be Thursday, February 29, 2024.
