Citizenship Instructor (Virtual)
- Must have reliable internet, a computer with camera and microphone, and a calm environment.
- Conducts group citizenship classes.
- Provides instruction for assigned curriculum and digital presentations. Follow course outlines as directed by HUF.
- Maintains accurate class and other records required by the program.
- Explains citizenship eligibility (USCIS), rights and responsibilities.
- Ensures participants understand main issues, concepts, and information by initiating discussion and/or answering questions.
- Refers participants to appropriate sources for information on counseling and other student services as applicable (Ex. ESOL)
- Works cooperatively.
- Fosters a positive working environment that is free from harassment, prejudice and/or bias.
- Demonstrates respect for the dignity of each person.
Qualifications:
The ideal instructor has a sense of commitment and full understanding of U.S. history and civics. Strong written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English are required. This position also requires strong organizational skills.
