HandsOn Broward’s STREAMscapes are outdoor experiential classrooms that incorporate vital academic elements of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) while also integrating the Arts for imaginative problem-solving and an often-overlooked, but equally essential, learning component: Reflection. The STREAMscape classroom will provide students with the full spectrum of STREAM in a hands-on experiential-based learning process. We will have a ground breaking, ribbon cutting ceremony, as we embark on this beautiful journey. Volunteers will help HandsOn Broward kick start this project in meaningful hands on beautification and create interactive components to later be used by students. Snacks and water will be provided.
There are over 4 million available jobs in science and technology. However, millions of kids can’t compete for them because they lack access to technology and educational resources —leaving too many kids behind. At Verizon, we believe that our technology has the power to help people lead better lives, solve problems in new ways and create lasting value. That’s why we’ve developed a program called Verizon Innovative learning that provides free technology, free access and immersive, hands-on learning to students in need. We need more kids to see the world of possibilities waiting for them.
