DIY Volunteer Project- Library Bin

DROP OFF DATES/TIMES:
Drop-offs for this project will start Tuesday, June 1st, 2021
Tuesdays 9 AM to 2 PM, Wednesdays 9 AM to 1 PM, and Thursday 12 PM to 5 PM
The last day to turn in this project is Thursday, June 17th, 2021.
CAUSE: Early Childhood Education and Literacy
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Volunteers will donate library bins to be placed in businesses and areas where children may engage in reading such as barbershops, laundromats, and salons. HandsOn Broward’s Literacy League will assist in distributing library bins around Broward County. These book bins will help bring books to areas where book deserts exist and encourage “take a book, leave a book” exchanges within those communities.
THINGS TO KNOW: This project will require volunteers to purchase or construct a library bin and decorate it to make it appealing to children. The decorated library bin will be donated to HandsOn Broward’s Literacy League who will fill the bins with books and distribute them to businesses around Broward County.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 5+, Minimum Age:5+
