At HandsOn Broward, our mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to effect positive change in Broward County.  By leveraging the power of people and socially responsible businesses, we transform local communities through meaningful hands-on projects that make a difference.

Cut out paper hands

HandsOn Broward mobilizes thousands of people each year to revitalize schools, parks, playgrounds, nonprofits and neighborhoods. Our volunteers create art in public spaces, build sustainable gardens, teach financial literacy to individuals and families, respond to disasters and work to protect the environment.

In the past year alone, our family of 12,163 volunteers, including 3,043 youth volunteers provided 56,306 hours of service to Broward communities.  Our cadre of dedicated ambassadors has mobilized to:

  • build 15 vegetable gardens in elementary schools, pre-schools and youth centers;
  • revitalize 15 parks and playgrounds;
  • paint 9 murals in blighted neighborhoods;
  • help 5,180 low-income families receive $5.6 million during the 2015 tax season;
  • match 25 individuals to one-on-one financial coaching opportunities; and
  • train 59 middle and high school youth leaders in the award-winning goLEAD Youth Leadership program.

We could not accomplish our mission without the support of our generous donors and volunteers. Your contribution helps support over 1,000 volunteer projects that HandsOn Broward organizes throughout Broward County year-round.

We appreciate your generosity!
