9/11 Day: Serving Those Who Have Served Us
HandsOn Broward is organizing a Volunteer Day of Service to commemorate the tragedy of September 11th, 2001, as well as in honor of men and women who serve in our military or as our communities’ first responders. Volunteers will honor the men and women who have served our country through a volunteer service project at Keystone Halls, a local residential facility that houses and assists homeless veterans who are in recovery from issues related to substance abuse. Volunteers will revitalize the center with building walkway, two picnic tables, landscaping, and cleaning up property, among other project components. Please be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and clothing suitable for painting/outdoor work. All supplies, snacks, water and lunch will be provided.
