Opportunity Details

Markham Park Butterfly Garden Project

Help continue the great work that was started by HandsOn Broward volunteers during 2014's Green Apple Day of Service by joining our Environmental Project Leader Maria, along with Markham Park staff, in maintaining Markham Park's Butterfly Garden.  Located near the nature trail entrance, work will include weeding and maintenance of the beautiful butterfly-attracting plants.

To make day-of registration quicker, please bring the completed Broward County Workday Volunteer Application and Waiver with you - the County requires it for all volunteers who have not undergone a county background check.  The form is available by clicking here.

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and must wear sneakers/closed-toe shoes - all volunteers will be working with dirt. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water and gloves for the project.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult to this project.  Court-ordered volunteers are NOT permitted for this project.  When you arrive at the Park, you will be able to park for free, and will meet Maria at the location you are given after registering.
The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
