2017 Youth and Family Summit
The 2017 Youth and Family Summit highlights successes and addresses challenges while providing resources and best-practice solutions to achieve the below shared results from the Broward Children’s Strategic Plan: • Children live in a stable and nurturing families • Children are mentally and physically healthy • Children are ready to succeed in school • Children live in safe and supportive communities • Young people successfully transition to adulthood The Summit will welcome 1,500 child advocates, child service professionals, parents, youth and members of the business community. The morning will include a plenary address followed by interactive concurrent sessions featuring youth voices and Broward County Public School’s debate teams. Afternoon sessions are a deeper dive into the topics addressed in the morning and will be spaces for creative conversations to Build a Better Broward for our children and families. There will be two volunteer shifts available as follows: Morning shift will run from 7AM-11AM. Volunteer tasks will include assistance with registration and morning workshops. Afternoon shift will run from 11AM-3PM. Volunteer tasks will include assistance with the afternoon workshops.
