Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin'-By World
Getting Ahead is an 18-20 week program for individuals who are living in poverty, generational poverty, or in unstable situations, to build and develop the necessary resources needed for stability. Volunteers will help with our childcare component which allows the participants to come to each session. Volunteers will be able to mentor children ages 5 through 17 through games, arts & crafts, discussions and more. Project takes place every Thursday evening from 5:30PM to 8:30PM. Volunteers will have to complete a level 2 background screening and attend our Safe From Harm Training where a certificate will be given. Once you express interest, Alyse, will contact you to schedule your volunteer hours.
