HandsOn Broward’s Hurricane Blowout

Kick off hurricane season by getting prepared with HandsOn Broward!  Come out and learn how to better prepare yourself, your family, and your local community for potential disasters.  Volunteers will also have the opportunity to build hurricane supply kits that will be donated to vulnerable communities in Broward County.  Refreshments will be served, all ages are welcome!

The event includes four specific projects/training sessions for volunteers:

Disaster Preparedness 101: This workshop will better prepare individuals and their families about what is best to do in the event of an emergency. 

Kids Care Club First-Aid Kit Building:
HOB’s Kids Care Club will be learning about first aid safety while creating custom first aid kits for local senior citizens.

Kit Building Exercise: Participants will be educated on the supplies that are needed in a hurricane supply kit, while creating 100 kits to be donated to vulnerable individuals in Broward County.

Safety Assessments for Emergencies Training: Volunteers will participate in an orientation for HOB’s SAFE program, which performs home hurricane safety assessments on vulnerable populations in Broward County.
